Objectives Outcomes
  •  To increase opportunities for the children to participate in high quality PE lessons with a person of expertise.
  • To ensure a wide range of appropriate PE equipment is available for use in PE lessons.
  •  Children develop skills to a high level.
  • Children are coached by a person with accredited sporting credentials.
  • Children engage in sporting activities they may not have experienced before.
  • Newly purchased large apparatus has enabled the development of PE skills based around climbing, balance and body control.

Autumn Term

Year 3/4 1st for Sport - Games and Athletics

  • Weekly lessons delivered by a Team Activ specialist.

 

Autumn Term 1

This half term the children have been focusing on Basketball. Lots of different basic skills were covered such as passing, dribbling and shooting. It was great to see the progression of the children throughout the sessions as it was the first time that most children had played the sport.

 

Autumn Term 2

This half term the children have been learning about the game of Football. Skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting have been covered in depth and progressed into a modified game situations. A variety of different tactics have also been discovered by the children and implemented successfully. It was nice to see the progression of the children from the first week up until the last week and it seemed to be a popular sport which the children enjoyed and improved in.

Year 5/6 1st for Sport - Games and Athletics

  • Weekly lessons delivered by a Team Activ specialist.

 

Autumn Term 1

This half term the children have been focusing on Basketball. They have covered lots of basic basketball skills of the game such as passing, dribbling and shooting. This quickly progressed into game scenarios where a variety of different tactics were practiced in order to try and outwit opponents and score points.

 

Autumn Term 2

This half term the children have covered the sport of Football. Skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting have been covered in depth to challenge all pupils ready to work towards a game situation. A variety of different tactics and formation have also been implemented successfully in the final couple of weeks. It was nice to see the progression of the children in which they took all the skills they had learned and put them into a game scenario which they enjoyed.
